▲ LOTTE Energy Materials' Charlotte Volunteer Group announced on the 13th that they carried out social contribution activities, including the 'Sharing Love with Briquettes' and 'Tree Planting for Forest Creation' in Iksan, where their factory is located, on the 12th as part of efforts to strengthen the social safety net and create a green ecosystem.

LOTTE Energy Materials (CEO Kim Yeon-seop) announced on the 12th that it conducted social contribution activities in the Iksan area where its factory is located to strengthen the social safety net and create a green ecosystem.

On the morning of December 12, LOTTE Energy Materials' SharLOTTE Volunteer Corps held a love briquette sharing event with officials from Busong General Social Welfare Center to support vulnerable people during winter ahead of a full-scale cold wave.   Participating employees personally visited households in Deokgi-dong and Yongje-dong to deliver 600 briquettes and share warmth. The company will also provide 2,700 briquettes to nine households that are struggling to purchase briquettes or need help due to the recent surge in energy costs.

On the same afternoon, LOTTE Energy Materials' CharLOTTE Volunteer Group traveled to Sudosan Park in Geumgang-dong, Iksan, where they planted 90 eight-year old mountain yew trees with the Blue Iksan Gardening Movement Headquarters to create a green ecosystem.  The tree planting was held in conjunction with the achievement of 100 million steps donated by employees to achieve carbon neutrality and greenhouse gas reduction.

LOTTE Energy Materials has been conducting the Green Step Challenge project through Give On, a joint donation platform of LOTTE Chemical Group, since August. A total of 178 employees participated in the program and reached their goal of one million steps in October.  The donation of 10 million won was made to the Blue Iksan Gardening Movement Headquarters to create a tree forest.

An official from LOTTE Energy Materials said, 'It was a valuable first step to protect the environment and develop mutually beneficially with the local community in Iksan, where our factory is located.' 'We will strive to conduct sustainable social contribution activities that are not one-time events even in difficult environments.'

Meanwhile, LOTTE Energy Materials has been promoting various social contribution activities this year under themes such as environmental/ecological protection practices and strengthening social safety nets.  In order to reduce the information gap for vulnerable people, we donated more than 200 IT assets for business use that had reached the end of their useful life to the Korea Information Technology Welfare Institute and supported them through upcycling.

Later this month, we will support the replacement of old air conditioners in Seoul's Dream Tree Village, provide Christmas snack gift sets to children from grandparents and single-parent families through Busong General Social Welfare Center in Iksan, and provide fire extinguishing equipment to vulnerable people with mobility issues.
