█ Recognized for its technology in high-end hybrid copper foil, LOTTE Energy Materials becomes the first Korean copper foil company to win the 2025 Interbattery Awards.
█ The product satisfies ultra-thin, high strength and long elongation at the same time and can be applied to various battery form factors and dry processes.
█ 'We will respond so that 'high-end hybrid elecfoil' becomes an essential core material to improve secondary battery performance.'
LOTTE Energy Materials (CEO Kim Yeon-seop) announced today that its High-End Hybrid Elecfoil won the Material/Components category at the 2025 Interbattery Awards held at COEX.
The award winning High End Hybrid Elecfoil is a key material for secondary batteries that simultaneously satisfies ultra thinness, high strength and long elongation based on unique patents and technology. In general, copper foils have a trade off of increasing strength reduces el In particular, there is no change in physical properties even in room temperature and high temperature environments, maximizing the reliability of battery cells and ensuring excellent durability and flexibility by realizing high strength and elongation at the same time. These characteristics increase design freedom for a wide range of battery form factors while also contributing to process optimization and improved stability.
In addition, thanks to its physical properties, it enables dry processes and high-speed production that global battery companies are trying to introduce, lowering production costs while dramatically increasing output. In the case of next-generation high-content silicon (Si) batteries developed by the industry to realize short charging time and long range in electric vehicles, heat generation and swelling can be effectively controlled with high strength and elongation properties, so increasing the silicon content is sufficient to respond.
LOTTE Energy Materials plans to strengthen its technological competitiveness through continuous development of advanced materials in preparation for the upcoming era of automotive electrification, and lead the market with innovative leadership in cathode current collectors. Through this, we will contribute to the development of the electric vehicle industry and continue to provide future-oriented technology solutions to our customers.
'The high-end hybrid copper foil we won this time is characterized not only by its application to various form factors, but also by its optimized properties for dry processes,' said a representative from LOTTE Energy Materials. 'We will continue to respond agilely so that high-end hybrid copper foil can become an essential core material to improve secondary battery performance and accelerate the transition to next-generation batteries.'
Meanwhile, the Interbattery Awards, organized by the Korea Battery Industry Association and COEX, were established last year to promote industry-wide development by selecting innovative technologies/products in the industry. Among companies participating in the Interbattery Exhibition, winners and products will be selected based on technology excellence, innovation, productivity, and contribution to industrial development.
